What Causes Excessive Groin Sweating

Sweating is a normal bodily function that regulates its temperature, and also rids itself of any toxins. When you experience excessive sweating for no apparent reason this is known as hyperhidrosis. This extreme sweating can be problematic and very embarrassing to cope with in everyday life. However, groin sweating isn’t as bad as some of the more common types of hyperhidrosis in the hands, feet, face and underarms, but it’s still an embarrassing thing to have to suffer with.

So Why Does My Groin Sweat So Much?

Excessive groin sweating can be the symptom of several medical conditions such as metabolism issues, gout, liver disease, infection and more. So it’s recommended you first see your doctor and let them give you the once over just to be sure.

More commonly though the reason can be put down to the apocrine sweat glands in the groin area and also the body’s sympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nerves are the ones that regulate your body’s temperature and react in times of stress.

Some excessive sweating from the groin can occur because of your body’s need to secrete toxins and waste which may have come from processed foods or alcohol.

To properly diagnose your excessive groin sweating you should visit your doctor, so that they can advise you on what the options are. When I’ve spoken to most groin sweating sufferers they use a variety of techniques and products to cope with the problem. However, one product in particular seems to come up more often than any other. The product that gets mentioned is Kiehl’s Antiperspirant Cream. It’s unique in the fact it’s a cream unlike most other lotion/spray based excessive sweating products on the market. It’s also less irritating and is perfect for those areas you don’t really want to go spraying things.
